Membership is increasing as a consequence of the excellent speakers. The group is a much appreciated forum for sharing ideas and expertise.
May: A Demonstration of Pearson's Assessment materials.
A wide range of assessment materials was displayed and the representative went through the materials giving details of their purpose, relevance and quality. She brought a wide range of material. All members present were impressed with the range and quality of test materials available and found the session very helpful. It prompted much discussion among members about testing in general.
July: Talk by Sue Peace on Dyscalculia.
An excellent presentation on the barriers to learning experienced by dyscalculics and how to remediate them. All members were enthralled and learnt a great deal from the session. As a consequence several members have decided to attend a course to be arranged by Sue Peace on strategies to help dyscalculics.
