On June 2011 Sue Palmer, author of 'Detoxing Childhood', gave us a fascinating talk on 21STCentury Children, Language, Literacy and Learning. She made us aware of the way the lives of children have changed in the light of technological developments and of how such elements as practical skills and the ability to relate to peers are being eroded. It was a thought-provoking evening.
At the time of going to press we are looking forward to a short presentation about useful resources for professionals working with those with specific learning difficulties. It will be held at the New Leaf Bookshop.
Bob Hext of the company Crossbow will be talking about educational resources at a meeting in the new year.
