Title - Coping with Dyslexia in Adult Life from 18 to 80 years

Talk by Sarah Freeman - Adult Specialist/Teacher/ Assessor

Sarah gave a most informative talk about some of her past students.

She described the typical dilemmas of those promoted at work, who suddenly found they needed support that would help them tackle the paperwork that came with their new jobs.

One student was a London Ambulance Driver/Paramedic, with an inventive streak. Some students needed help at a very basic level and some, the high flyers mentioned above needed different help. The talk demonstrated what a rewarding career being a Dyslexia Specialist can be.

After the meeting members were keen to follow up with more discussion.

Sarah originally studied English Literature and since 1975 has taught in colleges, obtaining her RSA Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties in 1995.

Sarah also has an MA in Language and Literacy
