Report on last meeting

Is dyslexia testing perplexing?
PATOSS discussion 19th November 2009

This meeting was in response to requests from local members who they find themselves, as qualified testers, isolated in their work, and welcomed a chance to meet and discuss current issues with other assessors.

We began with a short presentation by Sheena Bell, who invited us to discuss current issues following the Rose report, the role of the new Dyslexia-SpLD Trust, current practice in report writing, access arrangements, data protection and keeping up with new tests. We then split into groups to share ideas and concerns with others working with the same phases of education.

We had very good feedback from our members about this session. Not all of us manage to get to national training events and this sort of forum gives everyone to discuss their concerns.
