On 6 March 2008, there was a presentation entitled Managing the whole child in the classroom - a rationale and practical guidance (with additional data on provision at 16+ & 18+) by Dr Amanda Kirby, Director of the Dyscovery Centre. This was written up in the bulletin.

A meeting was held at Coleg Gwent, Crosskeys Campus, about the situation in Wales regarding assessment for Disabled Student’s Allowance by Specialist Teachers holding Practising Certificates. Three representatives from the Student Finance Department of the Welsh Assembly Government were present along with representatives from SASC, Dyslexia Action, ADSHE and BDA. This was a very important meeting and details can be obtained from Anni Wilton-Jones.

On 17 Jun 08, 'Ask the panel', a question and answer session took place at Dove Workshop, Banwen, near Neath. This proved to be a very useful discussion and networking meeting.

The next event is expected to be the (short) AGM followed by a full meeting. The date is TBA but is likely to be in November, 2008.

Attendance certificates will be provided for this meeting, as evidence for CPD.
