Many of our members teach in schools and colleges. Many provide one-to-one tuition to students with specific learning difficulties. This includes assessment of current level of knowledge and ability, planning programmes of work, delivering those programmes, advising on the broader educational programme, and liaising with other professionals.

We provide a range of publications, services and advice which are detailed on following pages.

What is Patoss?

Patoss is a professional association of teachers of students with specific learning difficulties, for all those concerned with the teaching and support of pupils with SpLD: dyslexic, dyspraxic, ADD, and Aspergers syndrome. Rose Review to Look at Dyslexia

Ed Balls, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families is expanding Sir Jim Rose's remit for an independent review of the primary curriculum. He has asked Sir Jim Rose, in the light of evidence, to make recommendations on the identification and teaching of children with dyslexia, and on how best to take forward the commitment in the Children’s Plan to establish a pilot scheme in which children with dyslexia will receive Reading Recovery support or one-to-one tuition from specialist dyslexia teachers.  Special Interest in full more
