Professional Practice Advisor:
(2 days a week) Post Ref: 1201

You will be responsible for providing specialist input as requested in development of policies and practice in support of assessing and teaching learners with dyslexia/specific learning difficulties, including examination access arrangements and access to higher education and employment. The role also requires delivering Continuing Professional Development; providing review of professional practice applications; gathering and analysing advice to inform consistent policy; liasing as necessary with other professional organisations in regard to developing assessment policy and practice. This post will be home based with regular meetings at the Patoss office. Closing date 3 February 2012

Professional Practice Advisor Job Description

Administrative Assistant:
(3 days a week) Post Ref: 1202

You will be responsible for responding to requests for membership information, conference documents and renewals; maintaining our membership database, including updating address details, membership status and fees paid; managing files of membership documentation; opening post and redirecting as necessary; managing Criminal Records Bureau applications, forms and records; monitoring e-mail communications and redirecting as necessary; handling credit card payments securely; producing mailing labels as required; maintaining a filing system for the safe keeping of Patoss records and correspondence. This post is based at the Patoss office in Evesham. Closing date 3 February 2012

Administrative Assistant Job Description

Programme Director

You will be responsible for co-ordinating, planning, developing and implementing Patoss professional services. This will include leading and co-ordinating the development and implementation of Continuing Professional Development for Patoss members and SpLD practitioners; assisting in co-ordinating and providing professional advice in response to enquiries; being well-informed about Patoss in general, relevant government proposals, regulations, research and good practice; evaluating the implications for the education sector and recommending appropriate action; assisting the Chief Executive in meeting the strategic goals of the company; managing the administrative support team of Patoss and work collaboratively with other key professional roles in the organisation to ensure efficient and effective services are provided to members. This post is based at the Patoss office in Evesham. Closing date 10 February 2012

Learning Support teacher with EAL Required April 2012

Clifton High School is a highly successful co-educational Bristol Independent School. We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Teacher with experience in supporting pupils with dyslexia and pupils for whom English is an additional language. It is envisaged that this will be a full-time role but applicants offering a minimum of four full days a week will be considered.

Applicants should hold a recognised qualification in teaching dyslexic pupils and an EAL qualification, or similar, is desirable. Experience of teaching across the school age range would be advantageous.

Casual Dyslexia Specialist Tutors

SPELD UK is a boutique tutoring organisation that is growing very rapidly. We currently have a small team of specialist dyslexia tutors in London. With the increase in demand for our services, we are looking for more specialist teachers to join us.

We are specifically looking for a number of well-qualified, experienced and passionate SpLD teachers for:

- A high achieving primary school in NW London (one day per week, possibly increasing throughout the year). Start Term 2.

- Study Skills Tutor for a dance school in Farringdon area (2 hours per week)

- Study Skills Tutor for a college in SE1 (Friday afternoon).

- Tutors in London areas: SW9, Hackney, W1, SE24 and other areas of London. We also require a tutor in Dronfield, Chesterfield.

You will provide expertise in the area of early literacy skill development, be able to identify difficulties and develop an individual program to suit the needs of the students.

Successful candidates will have professional and proactive approach and have experience in managing parent and client relationships.

The role requires somebody who has superb communication skills, is friendly, approachable and has a good sense of humour and is able to work flexibly and with patience.

SENCO Required for September 2012

Thames Christian College is a successful, innovative, small, independent, mainstream school with high behavioural standards and that is CReSTed registered. We are seeking to appoint a highly-qualified and adaptable individual to act as SENCO and support an enthusiastic team of TAs and LSAs. You will be responsible for liaison with a number of local authorities, running annual reviews, assessing and producing full diagnostic reports, testing and putting access arrangements into place. Excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to train teaching staff in SpLD awareness and to share up-to-date knowledge. The role has both significant pastoral care and administrative elements and could be between 3 and 5 days/week depending on the duties undertaken. Strong CPD and staff mentoring is a strength of the school. Candidates must be familiar with Assessment for Learning and support our Christian ethos.
