JCQ updates for 2021/2022 – Meet the Experts

These live webinars feature a presentation from Nick Lait, Head of Examination Services at the Joint Council for Qualifications (​JCQ).


Nick’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A panel session, providing you with the opportunity to put your questions regarding the revised guidelines and how they will affect your practice to our panel of experts.

The sessions are suitable for assessors, SENDCos, Access Arrangements Co-ordinators and Heads of Centre.

Course Description

Each webinar will begin with a presentation from Nick Lait, who will explore in detail this year’s updates to the Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments (AARA) regulations.

Nick’s presentation will be followed by a live Q&A session, in which Nick will be joined by Louise Green, an experienced assessor for JCQ access arrangements, and Gareth Cadman, a practising SENDCo. The Q&A will provide plentiful opportunities for discussion of the regulations for 2021-22 as well as issues affecting SENDCos, assessors, and centre managers, enabling attendees to gain a better understanding of queries relating to their own practice and setting.

Questions can be submitted in advance once you have signed up for the session. Be aware that some questions may be grouped together to address a specific theme.


You will find it useful, during the session, to have access to a copy of the JCQ Guidelines, Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments 2021/22.


This training course is for one and a half hours on Tuesday 7 September or Wednesday 8 September from 3.30-5.00pm on Zoom. Delegates will have access to the recording of the webinar for two weeks after to watch as many times as they like. If you cannot attend live on the day, you will still have access to the recordings on the same evening for two weeks from that date.

Course Materials

Electronic copies of the handouts will be provided but delegates will be responsible for printing off their own copies as this event is online.

Joining Instructions

Delegates will be sent links to Zoom where the course will be held, a few days before. You do no need specialist software or an app to attend.
