Dyslexia Assessment Team Lead / SpLD Team Lead at Lexxic
We are seeking a motivated and inspirational Dyslexia Assessment Team Lead / SpLD Team Lead to lead our team of SpLD Assessors at Lexxic Education. As Team Lead, you will motivate, inspire and lead our rapidly growing education team, fostering an ongoing culture of accountability and responsibility, whilst playing an active role in producing and maintaining a range of appropriate sources of information to provide guidance to students, schools, colleges and University departments.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage a team of dedicated team of highly professional SpLD assessors, conduct regular team and 1to1 meetings.
- Proactively build and maintain client relationships.
- Ensure high quality standards are maintained.
- Develop, apply, and share knowledge including keeping abreast of assessment developments and the work of SASC and DSA, as well as the evolving client needs and using this to develop the work of the team and to deliver client solutions.
- Undertake bespoke projects as required.
- Promote a culture of Continuing Professional Development, to maintain the Assessment Certificate (APC) in accordance with SASC and professional body requirements.
- Be open minded to creative approaches to ways of working, which can benefit the business and our clients.
- Work closely with the Principal Psychologist, Chief Psychologist, and the wider team.
- Advise on and deliver training and workshops on neurodiversity across the education sector.
- Provide internal and external consultancy, as a subject matter expert for SpLD diagnostics.
- Be a key ‘voice’ for Lexxic’s external comms in relation to championing our education services.
- Build and develop the Lexxic Education services.
- Network and build relationships with suppliers and clients.
- Understand potential client’s challenges and create tailored solutions using our core capabilities.
Must Have:
- A current Assessment Practicing Certificate (APC)
- Experience of using SASC guidance to complete specialist diagnostic assessments for adults in Higher Education
- An understanding of the DSA, as well as knowledge of current JCQ regulations
- An excellent understanding of the presentation of SpLD/neurodiverse conditions including Dyslexia, Dyspraxia/DCD, SLD, Dyscalculia, ADHD and Autism.
- Extensive experience of the Higher Education sector and wider education sector built up from a career in education, as SENCO or teacher or education specialist.
- People management experience
- An ability to design presentations and deliver training/workshops on neurodiversity across the education sector
- An understanding of quality assurance standards for the tutoring service, (e.g., the Association of Dyslexia Specialists in Higher Education (ADSHE) and advise where necessary on queries in relation to tutoring
- Excellent relationship building skills
Nice to Have:
- MSc Educational Psychology.
- Experience of managing contractors and external associates.
