KS 2 Class teacher for Dyslexic Learners in Outstanding Specialist School

Salary: £38,000 - 38,000 per Annum

Location: North Wiltshire SN14 8BN

Closing date: 24 June 2019

Description:

Required for September 2019

We are looking to recruit an inspirational class teacher for our dyslexic learners. The successful applicant will hold a BDA approved post graduate certificate in teaching pupils who have specific learning difficulties. This position is part time 8.30 am to  2.20pm daily.

The post offers an exciting opportunity to work in an outstanding specialist school with a proven track record of returning pupils successfully to mainstream education. Ours is a school where your teaching will really make a difference and the feedback at parents' evenings will be exhilarating and rewarding.

Our class size is 8 and we teach the full KS2 National Curriculum. As class tutor the successful applicant will enjoy maintaining a supportive, orderly and structured environment in which pupils start to take responsibility for their own learning, receive support in improving their organisational skills and treat each other with respect.

The primary teaching responsibility of the successful applicant will be to teach small group English, Spelling and Reading. We are looking for a good team player who will relish the opportunity to work with our sub skills staff and speech and language therapists under the direction of our English subject leader.

The post represents an opportunity to bring specialist knowledge to class small group teaching in a whole school environment. It offers broader scope for the specialist teacher than the one to one situation, and the daily lessons with the same pupils facilitates reinforcement and over learning.

Calder house is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its pupils and candidates must be prepared to undergo appropriate child protection screening including checks with past employers and the DBS.
