Patoss Conference 2019

After this year’s successful conference, we are excited to announce our Keynote Speaker for the 2018 Patoss conference will be Professor Dorothy Bishop. 

Professor Bishop is Professor of Developmental Neuropsychology in the Department of Experimental Psychology at St Johns College, Oxford University and a full time researcher funded by the Wellcome Trust. We are pleased to have her speaking on ‘Developmental Language Disorder’
looking at:

  • How is it distinguished from Dyslexia and other SpLDs
  • Co-occurrence between Dyslexia and Developmental Language
  • Disorder
  • The impact of Developmental Language Disorder on literacy
  • development
  • What signs a specialist teacher and assessor would need to be
  • looking for when working with a child to recognise possible
  • signs of Developmental Language Disorder
  • Teaching strategies that a specialist teacher could apply
  • if working with a learner who is suspected of having a
  • Developmental Language Disorder
  • The impact of Developmental Language Disorder on a learner
  • who is a teenager and an adult

We are extremely pleased to have her as our Keynote for the Patoss 2019 Conference.

Of course, the Keynote is just one part of the Day’s conference which kicks off at 9.00am. After the Keynote there is an option of 6 CPD seminars covering a range of topics of interest to the sector, of which some are SASC approved. Mix this with the range of exhibitors, networking opportunities and professional support the conference offers so much it is well worth a visit.
