SASC new report format consultation announced

In line with keeping abreast of developing needs, SASC is launching 2 new recommended formats for diagnostic assessment reports for specific learning difficulties (SpLDs). One is for pre-16 age learners and the other for post -16 learners. These recommended formats reflect an extensive consultation process carried out over the past two years by SASC and its sub-committee STEC, involving key professional bodies and training providers in the field, to clarify how best, in the SpLD diagnostic assessment, to use professional observation and experience alongside test results in the identification of an individual with a specific learning difficulty.
SASC is conducting a consultation for all producers and users of diagnostic assessment reports. We would greatly welcome your comments before finalising the recommended report formats.
Consultation closes 14th March. Please complete your survey completion is 14th March 2019. Following this consultation final changes will be made to the draft formats and they will be published on the SASC website by the end of March 2019. From this date assessors can, if they wish, use the new formats to guide report writing. It is expected that training will be offered by SASC approved providers for assessors wishing to explore how best to incorporate these changes into their report writing. After 31st March 2020 assessors will be expected to write reports to these formats.
