OnDemand: Bite Size 10 JCQ Access Arrangements Essentials: Using Access Arrangements Online

The Bite-size Essentials series has been fully revised and updated in line with the JCQ AARA regulations for 2021-22. This bite-size is presented by Lucy Merlo


Each session addresses a key aspect of exam access arrangements providing you with a detailed overview of the relevant processes and regulations, ensuring that your knowledge and practice are up to date.

Course Description

The courses cover the following key areas:

Using Access Arrangements Online

  • When to use AAO (the access arrangements and qualifications covered by AAO).
  • AAO Key Facts.
  • Who should make the AAO application?
  • Getting started with an application: how to make an application and which documents need to be in place before making an application.
  • Example applications: step-by-step guide.
  • Making a referral to an awarding body where the online system in unable to approve an access arrangement.

Target Audience

The courses are suitable for assessors, SENDCos, Access Arrangements Co-ordinators and Heads of Centre.


This course is on demand. Delegates will have direct access to the event in the ‘Online Events’ section of their account for two weeks from the payment date, and can watch as any times as they like during that period.

If paying by card (please ensure the billing address and card address match), access will be given within a minute or so. If paying by invoice, access will be given on payment of that invoice. You will need to check with your own finance department to see when the invoice is paid. If paying by BACS, you will need to give our finance department a day or so to link the payment to the invoice which will activate access.

Course Materials

Delegates will be able to download handouts and print off to have with them while watching the recordings.
