OnDemand: Enabling Students with SpLDs to Succeed in HE through the Effective use of Study Skills

In today’s Universities, students with Specific Learning Difficulties and Differences are seeking effective learning strategies to aid learning.


Universities' Support Staff are under increasing pressure to deliver cost-effective evidence-based study skills approaches which promote the independence of the students in terms of their own learning.

Course Description

This course is designed to achieve both these aims, firstly through the support staff helping the student to understand how to adapt and use study skills approaches and secondly by directing the student to where they can use commercial materials to support their learning to promote their independence.

The course aims to address from the presenter’s book Study Skills for Students with Dyslexia 3rd Edition Sage. Please note you are advised to have the access to the book if possible, delegates booked onto this course will be given a discount on the book, there are instructions within the webinar on how to purchase the book with a discount.

Staff delivering study skills in higher education:

  • Specialist tutors qualified to teach students with SpLDs
  • Library staff who support students in teaching study skills
  • Advisory staff working in Student Services who also provide academic advice
  • Freelance tutors wishing to upgrade their skills


This course is on demand and is a recording of a live event.

Joining Instructions

Once you have booked and paid for your place, the admin team will give you access to the training which is hosted on Moodle. The admin team's working hours are Monday-Friday 9.00am-5.00pm
