On 14 September, we started the academic year with a selection of resources from Crossbow Education to look at and purchase.


On 9 November,  we AGM followed by an unavoidable change to our advertised programme. 


Our speaker was John Hicks, from Sprint Plus computer reader technology who came and talked about ‘How to Take the Stress out of Literacy by Using Technology’. There were freebies for attendees and much useful discussion ensured.

On 8 March 2018, Jane Mullen, speech and language therapist, speaking about ‘How Language Develops / What Problems Can Occur’. 


On 17 May 2018, Penny Allen, talking about ‘How Improving Handwriting Helps Dyslexics’.      


On14 June 2018, Networking and resource sharing evening.


On 13 September 2018, Rachel Ingham on ‘The Right Angle for Maths’,  

a talk on Maths difficulties associated with dyslexia/dyscalculia. Rachel is an educational consultant and trainer who has been a keynote speaker at many conferences around the country.


The Chester and District Patoss group meet every half term.

All meetings on Thursdays, 7.30pm at Caldy Valley Church Centre, Caldy Valley Road, Boughton, Chester, CH3 5PR.  The Church is found just off the Sainsbury’s roundabout where Whitchurch Road (A5115) meets the Ring Road (A41) on the road leading to Huntington.  Guests £8 incl refreshments. The cost of membership is £25 per year starting in November. Members are circulated with any known job vacancies before our general local contacts. CPD certificate of attendance available at the meeting.
