The group has now achieved formal status and the first CPD meeting was held on 19th September 2017, where a group member updated attendees on assessing and diagnosing for dyspraxia, followed by group discussions of sample reports. The committee have also met on 7th November.

John Hicks, who recently presented at the SEN Jigsaw Conference in Leek, will speak to us about how to help maintain self esteem and support students in finding their own direction in life. John is a trained life coach and business consultant and the founder of Studying with Dyslexia Blog. He is a father of a dyslexic teenager and understands the challenges that dyslexia presents. There will also be an opportunity to view the computer program Sprint. Free for members of the group, £10 for non-members



Tuesday, 22 May 2018, 7pm to 8.30pm at Aquinas College, Stockport.

‘Ideas for Report Recommendations and Here’s a Great App I’ve Used’ - an opportunity to share ideas with colleagues. For the final part of this meeting, we will have a slot for those with appropriate qualifications. It will be called ’Tricky student / tricky profile‘. If you have carried out an assessment and would welcome the opportunity to discuss the profile with others, or if you are tutoring/supporting a student and running out of ideas, we hope this will give members a chance to share expertise and ideas. Group members – free. Non-members £10.
