Introduction

Taking the leap to delivering specialist lessons using Skype can be daunting. This practical course is designed to demonstrate the process; from the basics of setting up, to the strategies and resources that make Skype lessons as successful and enjoyable as face to face sessions for students of all ages.  

Course Description

This set of 3 one-hour Webinars are offered as a package or individually, allowing separate focus on: Primary, Secondary and HE provision. Over the last few weeks, many teachers have, by necessity, moved to online teaching.  Our learners are vulnerable and interruption to our service and skills as specialist teachers could have long term impacts for some learners. This course is designed to enhance this development for you, or build your confidence in setting up, for you as an individual, or as a leader of a team continued, quality provision.  Jane Dupree has been delivering specialist tuition using Skype for over 9 years, to students of all ages. During this time technological advances, together with improvement to fast broadband services for all has exploded. In 2016, Jane and her tutoring team took the leap to tutoring solely on-line. This led to a development in resources and warp around services for all ages. The webinar has been offered at 3 levels; Primary, Secondary and H.E to enable plenty of time for delegates to ask specific questions.

During each one-hour Webinar Delegates will

  • Gain confidence in setting up and using Skype for the delivery of lessons for students with SpLDs
  • Have an opportunity to focus on age specific solutions (Primary, Secondary, H.E. Settings)
  • Learn how to build and share a bank of age specific resources and wrap around tools.
  • Have ample opportunity to ask questions

Please note the first part of each Webinar will cover similar skills.

Course Outcome

Professional development of alternative ways to deliver quality first teaching. Delegates will be given a Power Point with step by step guidance on setting up and using Skype, together with links to useful resources, both free and paid for.

Timings
