The SASC New Report Formats for Pre and Post-16. Moving forwards: SASC Authorised - On-line

This on-line training is presented as a ‘fly-on-the-wall’ video of a ’live’ 5 hour session with all relevant resources.  Participants will have access to the course for 2 weeks from their course activation date.

It is intended for specialist teacher assessors/psychologists already qualified in conducting diagnostic assessments wishing to explore the SASC new report formats for Pre and Post-16 age groups.

It is suitable for professionals working across all age ranges bearing in mind that, following recent guidance from the DfE, reports written by assessors holding an APC/HCPC registration at any stage have the potential to support Disabled Student's Allowance applications at any time in the future.

This course is intended to support specialist teacher assessors/psychologists in their use of the SASC New Report Formats for Pre and Post-16. The new formats provide an opportunity for assessors to review and develop their diagnostic assessment report writing skills.

Understanding and working successfully with the new report formats will enable assessors to produce reliable, accessible and useful assessment reports. The course will review the psychometric principles underpinning statistical analysis and the compilation of quantitative information, as well as the role of qualitative analysis and observations to support the diagnostic decision. Guidance will be given on how assessors might synthesise the range of evidence gathered as well as present succinct and clear comments.

This training course is delivered as a 'fly on the wall' recording of our full-day session.

Once we have received payment in full, you will be sent an email from our admin team to the email address on your account, with your log-in details to access the course. You will then have two weeks to complete the course. On successful completion you will be able to download your unique SASC authorised certificate.

What our delegates say:

'I just wanted to let you know that I have just completed the online  SASC New Report Format Moving Forward, and found it really excellent and really the way forward as far as courses for me are concerned. I was able to go at my pace, stopping and starting, and going over areas I wanted to when I wanted. I could also stop to write up notes, which was much much easier. A really great experience and I will certainly look at other online courses in the future.

'Thank you for the online format - excellent. I found it better than face to face as I was able to go back and listen to a slide again until enough notes made and item fully understood. I found the subtitles very useful for ensuring exact and accurate understanding. I liked the fact that I could pause the speaker while I made notes.'

'Highly structured, logical and informative explanations by the speakers, together with justifications why the changes are being introduced.'

'The two speakers' extensive knowledge and professional experience, which served to put my mind to rest about areas I was not entirely certain about, e.g. DCD and dyscalculia.'

'All the written resources that I'm going to use as starting reference points. I'm positive I've got all the information that I need.'

'It will result in my increased confidence in my professional practice. I could listen to Jen and Katherine all day. I will regularly check the SASC website and network with more professional colleagues.'

'I have always found the Patoss core sessions to be clear and precise so that I know what I am supposed to do. The tutors have a deep experiential knowledge and  are passionate about the students. This course even though online, due to lock down in my case, maintained the very high standards I am accustomed to. Please convey my sincere thanks to the 2 tutors for sharing with us their expertise and passion for helping SpLD students.'

'I have already completed new report training, but the way this course delivered it was excellent and it has enabled me to identify many areas in which I can tweak my new-format reports.  It has also reassured me that I am mainly on the right track. As I said above, this course really was excellent in terms of the format, the speakers' knowledge and presentation and professional usefulness and application.  I have recently decided to change to PATOSS for my APC, and this course has confirmed for me that PATOSS is the best organisation to be affiliated with, and the first place to look for relevant training'

'the course is brilliant, very enjoyable and makes a huge difference to understanding the new report formats'
