Patoss require Professional Practice Tutors and Mentors

To meet ever growing demands, we are seeking to expand our pool of tutors and mentors working in key areas and are now looking for highly experienced assessors and tutors to join our team in providing online support to course participants and mentees.

The popular Patoss courses, AAA - Assessing for Access Arrangements and PPAR – Professional Practice in Assessment and Reporting, are delivered through blended learning, each comprising four face-to-face training days and a dedicated online learning platform.

These courses develop the theoretical and practical knowledge underpinning the assessment of learners; in the case of the AAA, assessing for examination access arrangements in line with the JCQ and Awarding Body regulations, and for the PPAR developing assessment practice for the award of an SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate.

The Patoss mentoring service provides a personalised, SASC approved CPD package to enable practising assessors to further develop their confidence and expertise in conducting assessments.

Professional Practice Tutors are qualified assessors with considerable experience of carrying out full diagnostic assessments and / or assessing for access arrangements.

Tutors guide students through course requirements, including assessment tools and techniques, analysis of findings and completion of report paperwork. In the case of the AAA programme, tutors also support students in the completion of a number of written tasks, including an academic essay.

Good communication skills, both orally and in writing, are essential for these roles and experience of online mentoring or tutoring would be beneficial.

The role, which is home-based, will suit individuals with flexibility and enthusiasm. Applicants must hold a current SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate.
